Atlanta’s City Utilities Committee voted unanimously Sept. 15 to recommend adding up to $8,521,451.57 to the Department of Watershed Management’s pavement milling and resurfacing agreement with SBI & HFJ Joint Venture. The committee recommendation does not make the contract amendment binding.

The resolution says increased water and sewer repairs across the city exhausted existing contract funds and left a pavement-restoration backlog. The contract covers replacement of pavement and sub-base material, asphalt overlays, striping and marking. The proposed addition would raise the contract ceiling to $15,610,113.67; the document identifies no particular streets for the backlog work.
