Airport food deal inherited through bankruptcy gets Council’s renewal approval
The 15–0 vote authorizes three more years for OHM’s package on concourses B and F. The extension requires a signed, delivered renewal notice to bind Atlanta.
Atlanta City Council voted 15–0 Oct. 19 to authorize three more years for an airport food-and-beverage agreement inherited by OHM Concession Group through Global Concessions’ bankruptcy.[1][2]
Resolution 26-R-4266 covers Package No. 7 on Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s concourses B and F—not all airport restaurants. It authorizes the mayor or a designee to exercise the agreement’s only three-year renewal option, running Oct. 31, 2026, through Oct. 30, 2029.[1]
We previously reported the Transportation Committee’s 5–0 recommendation. Full Council has now adopted the measure by consent, before the existing term ends Oct. 30. That expiration date came from a pandemic-era amendment signed in 2021.[1][2]
According to the resolution, Global filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April 2025, and a court-approved asset purchase agreement dated November 2025 assigned its contract rights and obligations to OHM. Atlanta acknowledged the court-ordered assignment in an April 2026 amendment. The renewal vote is a later step—not a new bankruptcy transfer.[1][2]
The aviation general manager and chief procurement officer recommended renewal, and the resolution says OHM performs satisfactorily under the agreement.[2]
Council approval is not the same as a binding extension. The resolution says Atlanta incurs no obligation until the mayor or a designee signs the renewal notice and delivers it to OHM. The records reviewed do not establish that those steps are complete.[2]
