Staff backs Windward Hall with trail easement and 185-foot turn lane

Alpharetta staff recommends approval of Windward Hall's stand-alone restaurant proposal on 3.75 acres at the southeast corner of Windward Parkway and Edison Drive. The recommendation would allow a restaurant without a drive-through as a principal use in Windward Master Plan Pod 14A.

Recommended conditions would require the developer to dedicate land or an easement for public access along a future multi-use trail. They also call for a sidewalk at least 10 feet wide on Windward Parkway and at least six feet wide on Edison Drive, with planted strips and decorative pedestrian lighting.

Staff also recommends a dedicated left-turn lane at the site's Edison Drive driveway, at least 185 feet long including storage and taper. Cases MP-26-08/V-26-08/E-26-05 are listed for City Council consideration on Oct. 26, 2026. The staff recommendation is not a council approval.
