Fulton resolution proposes independent officers to screen and decide ethics complaints

The resolution would set out proposed ethics-code amendments and direct the county attorney to prepare an adopting ordinance.

A resolution on Fulton County’s Oct. 7 agenda proposes abolishing the Board of Ethics and assigning screening and adjudication of ethics complaints to independent officers.[1]

Item 26-0675 would designate a marked-up ethics code as the official statement of proposed amendments, direct the county attorney to prepare an adopting ordinance and provide for implementation planning. The agenda requests approval of that resolution; it does not establish adoption of the revised ethics code.[1]
