Local brief
Stormwater cleanup targets three sites marked 100% clogged
Powder Springs approved $15,188 to clear sediment at eight locations. Follow-up inspections will determine whether additional pipe repairs are needed.
Three drainage structures marked 100% clogged are among the targets of a $15,188 stormwater cleanup approved Oct. 5 by Powder Springs City Council.[1][2][3]
The authorization allows Federal EC, LLC to perform the work, funded from the city’s Stormwater General Repairs and Maintenance line. The attached work order describes cleaning sediment-filled pipes, followed by city inspections to look for damage and determine whether additional repairs are necessary.[1][2][3]
The work-order maps label drainage structures at 2965 Florence Road, 3150 Florence Road and 3770 Forest Hill Road as fully clogged. Those include two round pipes and a concrete box drain.[3]
The other five cleaning locations are 3189 Caley Mill Drive, 4031 Fambrough Drive, 3300 Lancer Drive, and 1011 and 1015 Pinetree Court.[3]
The approval and attached work order do not establish a start date or whether the cleaning has been completed. The authorized scope is sediment removal and assessment—not a determination that no further pipe repairs will be needed.[2][3]
