Council approves parking for two more CobbLinc Go vans at police lot

The lease amendment would raise monthly rent from $824 to $1,030. The authorization covers van parking—not a confirmed change in passenger service.

Powder Springs City Council approved expanding River North Transit's parking arrangement from eight spaces to ten at the police department lot on Oct. 5, 2026, authorizing room to store two more CobbLinc Go vans.[1][2][3]

The lease amendment identifies the lot as 1114 Richard D Sailors Parkway and would raise the rent the company pays the city from $824 to $1,030 a month. That's $206 more, with the $103 monthly price per space unchanged.[3]

River North operates the microtransit program in Cobb County, including transportation services for Powder Springs residents, according to the resolution. The city says the additional van capacity is intended to facilitate more transportation services.[2]

The approval is for parking and storage, however—not a documented passenger-service rollout. The available amendment is unsigned and would take effect on the date of the last signature. These records do not establish when the additional vans would use the lot or whether passenger service has changed.[1][3]
