Explore the source documentsFulton County approved $200,000 for environmental education at Roswell’s Chattahoochee Nature Center, pairing support for existing and expanded programs with requirements for operating hours, school partnerships and monthly attendance reports.[1][2][3]
Commissioners approved the agreement March 18, 2026, under item 26-0163. The money comes from the county’s general fund through Arts and Culture. The electronic signing record shows completion April 6; the contract runs from execution through Dec. 31, unless extended or terminated.[1][2][3]
The agreement targets services at the center at 9135 Willeo Road in North Fulton. It calls for environmental lessons connecting science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, along with partnerships with Fulton County Schools, county arts centers and other community organizations.[1][3]
The center must operate at least 20 hours a week, with a responsible person on site during operating hours. It also must provide the county with a 2026 work plan identifying service goals and objectives, plus a schedule of programs and special events with projected participation.[3]
The reporting requirements turn that plan into work the county can track. By the 10th of each month, the center must submit attendance reports for each environmental program or event, along with the number of active volunteers and volunteer hours donated during the previous month.[3]
The contract calls for one lump-sum payment upon execution. In return, the county retains access to records of activities and expenses, and county funds still on hand must be returned when the agreement expires or is terminated. The approval and completed signing record establish the commitment and its terms—not a payment date or a tally of people actually served.[2][3]
