Macedonia Road frontage could shift to city maintenance under apartment-site annexation

Cobb County transportation comments include the roadway, stormwater infrastructure, markings, signs and mowing within the proposed new city boundary.

Cobb County transportation comments in a September 28 Powder Springs report say annexing the proposed 242-apartment site at 2761 Macedonia Road would transfer responsibility for the Macedonia Road frontage within the new city boundary to Powder Springs. The county describes the affected boundary as running from Old Macedonia Road to the site’s western corner.[1]

The county says the transfer would include the right-of-way, roadway and associated stormwater infrastructure, along with maintenance such as pavement markings, signs and mowing. This is a described consequence of the requested annexation, not evidence that the annexation or maintenance transfer has been approved.[1]
