Elevator renewal clears Council at $5,000 below original proposal

The 15–0 vote lists a $263,369.96 ceiling. A resolution printout still carries the higher figure, leaving the detailed funding revisions unverified.

Atlanta City Council voted 15–0 on Oct. 19 to authorize a $263,369.96 elevator-maintenance renewal—$5,000 below the ceiling in the original proposal, according to its action minutes.[1][2]

The vote adopts a substitute for resolution 26-R-4193, covering TK Elevator Corporation’s citywide service, repair and maintenance agreement. The second renewal option runs from Nov. 17, 2026, through Nov. 16, 2027.[1]

The agreement names eight departments: Enterprise Asset Management, Fire and Rescue, Police, Aviation, Corrections, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and Watershed Management.[1]

Our earlier report on the $5,000 mismatch found that the proposal’s departmental payment lines totaled $263,369.96, while its authorization said $268,369.96. The amount recorded in Council’s vote now matches that original payment-line total.[1][2]

That does not verify every change to the funding provisions. The resolution printout reviewed still uses $268,369.96 in its operative authorization, rather than the lower figure in the adopted-substitute entry. The substitute’s detailed funding revisions remain unverified.[1][3]

Council authorization is not proof of an executed renewal or money spent. The original text requires a renewal notice signed by the mayor or interim chief procurement officer and delivered to TK Elevator before Atlanta is bound. The records reviewed do not establish that those steps are complete.[1][2]
