Atlanta proposes abandoning a portion of Shirley Place NW as public right-of-way. The ordinance says the section has been fenced off to vehicles and pedestrians since the Verbena Gardens property was demolished and no longer provides access to occupied or actively used properties.

Existing utility easements would remain. An earlier city resolution supported potential inclusion of the right-of-way in an affordable-housing assemblage, but this ordinance proposes abandonment, not approval of homes or a transfer. Council referred it Sept. 21; its Sept. 30 committee listing does not establish adoption.
