Atlanta’s City Utilities Committee gave first reading Sept. 15 to an ordinance proposing to move $20 million from water and wastewater reserves into a capital-program fund for architectural, engineering, design and construction-management services. It was forwarded to the full City Council for referral, not approved as a budget transfer.

The Department of Watershed Management says the funding would help deliver current capital projects, future work identified through master planning and urgent infrastructure or compliance needs. The appropriation lists various fiscal 2027 projects rather than specific construction sites.
