Atlanta council requests vacant-property inventory for housing and other uses

Atlanta City Council adopted Sept. 21 a request for a citywide inventory of vacant and underutilized privately owned properties that may be developed for housing and other uses. Resolution 26-R-3997 passed 13–0.

The request identifies properties that are nonresidential, not publicly owned, vacant, abandoned or neglected, may qualify as nuisance properties and are under 30% forested. The chief operating officer is asked to coordinate with City Planning, Invest Atlanta, Atlanta Beltline, Inc., Atlanta Housing and the Metro Atlanta Land Bank.
