$202,275 hotel-tax refund wins unanimous Council approval
The money is for FO Peachtree Property LLC’s overpayments from September 2023 through June 2024. Council authorization is not confirmation of payment.
Atlanta City Council voted 15–0 on Oct. 19 to authorize a $202,275.01 hotel-tax refund to FO Peachtree Property LLC for overpayments dating to 2023–24.[1]
Resolution 26-R-4195 concerns the company’s business at 590 W. Peachtree Street NW and hotel-or-motel occupancy taxes overpaid for September 2023 through June 2024.[1][2]
According to the resolution, Atlanta’s Finance Department investigated the request and determined that the company was entitled to the refund. The measure cites a city-code requirement that certain refunds exceeding $10,000 go to the Finance/Executive Committee and City Council for final determination.[2]
We previously reported the committee’s 5–0 recommendation on Oct. 14. The Oct. 19 minutes now record Council’s adoption by unanimous consent vote—not merely another scheduled consideration.[1][3]
The refund would come from Atlanta’s Hotel/Motel Tax Fund. The resolution text reviewed does not explain how the overpayment arose or show the calculation, and the records reviewed do not establish that the money has been paid.[1][2]
